 The Bedgebury Park Riding Club's aim is to be a fun and friendly riding club for all. Whether you ride at Bedgebury on the school horses, are a livery at Bedgebury, or live locally and have your own horse(s) then we would like to hear from you.
We arrange a programme of events each year ranging from evening hacks with a BBQ to our popular spring and autumn indoor hunter trials.
For the majority of events it is possible for riding school riders to hire school horses for the event subject to the agreement of the riding school that your ability is suitable.
In 2008 our programme will include a dressage series, the first will be a "friendly have a go" competition in which you will be able to use your choice of bit and tack. This will be aimed at those who have never ridden in a test before or who have a young or inexperienced horse or maybe someone who is returning to competitions.
We hope to include a repeat of the 2007 clear round jumping competition which in which over 80 rounds were jumped.
Even if you are not competition minded the evening hacks might be for you. They leave the yard at about 6:45 pm and the hack last for about 1 &1/4 hours followed by a BBQ using locally sourced food. Drinks are included.
If you are non rider but friend or partner of a rider we would welcome your membership and potential help at the indoor hunter trials, which need quite a few helpers on the day. Horse box parking direction, course building, timing, judging and stewarding the practice rings are just a few examples of the jobs to be done on the day. Help at any other event would also be more than welcome.
