We are very lucky at Bedgebury to have knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructors to develop the enjoyment of riding in a structured, professional manner.
Tuition is offered in riding and stable management from beginners to advanced level. We regularly run short courses for both adults and children, and are an active Pony Club Centre, for children with or without their own pony.
Having the best start in riding is of vital importance to your confidence and to develop a good foundation. Adults are normally started with lunge lessons on a one-to-one, while children begin on lead rein lessons.
Progress can be made through graded group lessons and hacks or individual privates, through to jumping and cross-country if you wish.
Bedgebury is very lucky to have the wonderful 2000 acre Bedgebury Forest on its doorstep; once riders have been assessed to a minimum level, they may join group or private hacks out into the forest, without road work.

ALL PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO REVISION (at any time, but generally in September annually).
Notes:
Any rider new to us who wishes to join a group lesson or group hack, must have a 1/2 hour assessment lesson on a different day than the group booking. This is so we can match rider to horse and is important both from a safety aspect, and your enjoyment as a rider.
New riders should arrive about 10 minutes prior to the lesson so they can fill in a "new client" form.
Riding hats to the current safety standards must be worn at all times whilst riding. Bedgebury carries a limited supply of hats that may be borrowed for the first few lessons.
Body protectors are strongly recommended for jumping, and compulsory for cross-country.
Only riders with correct riding footwear or suitable alternatives will be allowed to ride. Suitable alternatives must be sturdy, have a flat sole and small heel, and be free of buckles. Trainers or Wellington boots are not acceptable.
Any rider hacking out from Bedgebury must have the correct riding hat, boots, and jodhpurs or breeches.
In the interests of the welfare of our horses, Bedgebury has a weight limit of 13 stone.
All lessons/hacks must be booked in advance.
24 hours notice is required for cancellations, otherwise the full lesson price is payable.
Bedgebury reserve the right to change horses or instructors should it be necessary.
Riding is a high risk sport; all riders are strongly advised to take out personal accident insurance.
Cheques must be payable to BEDGEBURY TRADING LTD.
Bedgebury takes all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of those visiting the Centre. For these precautions to be effective, visitors must follow the instructions of staff at all times and not put themselves or others in unnecessary situations where they may be injured.
Horses can be unpredictable and may react unexpectedly, or indeed aggressively to sudden noises, movements, strange objects, or to those feeding treats over the stable doors.
