Bedgebury Park Equestrian Centre
Student Training

Bedgebury has been successfully training students since the 1980's and has numerous former students now working in the horse industry.

Annually, there are a number of places to join the team as a Working Pupil, gaining the British Horse Society's examinations. These culminate in the Grooms certificate or the BHS Assistant Instructor's certificate. National Vocational Qualifications are available and are structured into the training timetable to work alongside the BHS exams.

Working Pupils are offered accomodation in lovely log cabins on site. All utility bills and meals are also included in the package. With the regular competitions hosted by the Centre, there is also the frequent opportunity to compete on our well educated horses. This situation provides a little mock pressure, in preparation for exam nerves.

As the Equine Industry grows, there are many different avenues that and equine career could take. On leaving school, the BHS system offers students an excellent grounding. This platform can be used as a springboard into further education, continued vocational qualifications, branch into an apprenticeship or to work abroad with internationally recognised qualifications. It is still considered by the industry to offer the best practical experience, and therefore the most desired qualifications.

In addition to this, and subject to availability, we welcome those who wish to come along and join in our career training sessions on a daily basis. BHS stage lessons and lectures are held daily; Intermediate sessions are usually held weekly. As a BHS Exam Centre, we routinely have students join lessons before the exam to familiarise themselves with the surroundings.
